Classic Clay
The benefits
We understand that any rejuvenation or alteration to a court surface requires careful consideration from a cross section of decision makers. Naturally, the type of surface is of utmost importance but the overall investment and affordability will dictate final decisions.
There are huge benefits to consider
Other than that Classic Clay looks and feels like a professional 'watered' clay court and increases play during the year the most attractive aspect of the Classic Clay system is cost saving. Because of zero water usage and low maintenance.
Maintenance
Maintaining a clay court has never been simpler. The importance of maintenance is to achieve even distribution of infill and extend the playing life of the product. The mineral infill (clay) should completely cover the ‘binder’ surface. The slightly raised white lines will remain visible after using a drag mat. The surface will require no water for play or maintenance. The Classic Clay surface will require no water for maintenance or play.
Lifetime
The lifetime of the surface will vary depending on climate, usage and maintenance. In most global regions, the warranty provided with the Classic Clay surface is valid for 1 year initially and is extended to 7-10 full years with annual maintenance contracts.
An extended warranty is offered coupled with a maintenance program, taking the warranty period to a full 15 years. The maintenance focuses primarily on ensuring the mineral infill is kept at correct levels. This serves 2 purposes:
- The court is designed to slide and react like a clay court and is only possible with the correct levels of infill
- Protection of the ‘binder’ layer. If the court is used with the binder exposed, damage can be expected causing the base to compact, harden, lose drainage quality and affect the slide consistency.
